What do you specifically know that most accountants don't?

I specialize in multi-state sales tax nexus. One of the unique things about sales tax is that every state has its own rules and requirements. A business may have nexus in one state but not another, so there is rarely a one-size-fits-all answer. I enjoy helping clients understand their obligations and creating practical compliance plans that fit their business.

What's one type of client situation you've handled that you're proud of?

I worked with a client through a state sales tax audit and helped reduce their exposure by more than $100,000. The company had reporting issues that needed to be corrected, and I worked closely with the auditor to clean up the filings and resolve the issues. It was rewarding to help the client reach a much better outcome than they expected.

My strongest areas include multi-state nexus analysis, sales tax registrations, sales tax filing and reporting, drop-shipping transactions, and voluntary compliance strategies, along with helping businesses understand state-specific sales tax rules and requirements. I enjoy helping companies put together a clear plan for becoming and staying compliant.

What makes you an interesting/quirky/fun person?

Family is a big part of my life. I enjoy spending time with my husband and three kids and cheering them on at their activities. When I'm not working, you'll usually find me playing sports, especially pickleball, watching sports, or fishing in the mountains. A quiet day fishing with good scenery is one of my favorite ways to spend the summer.
